Battle Cry: Boot to the head!
If I were to give Klaus a history.. Well I have given it thought, but
it's just ideas. His father is a villain, and he got his heightened
powers from being in a series of operations and injections from one
of the 'super soldier' type labs his father owns. The operations left
him with a near constant rush of adrenaline and endorphins rushing through
his body, which while heightening his senses and reflexes, it also tends
to make him very cranky. In the country where Klaus comes from, where
his father is Overlord, it's fairly standard to join one of the armed
corps at an early age, in hopes of travelling to other countries to
bring honor and conquest home. Klaus was an average fighter in hand-to-hand
(or perhaps foot-to-head?) combat, but once he was selected to receive
"special" training, realized he just needed to get out. But..
not until after receiving the treatments. As a result of abandoning
the corps before finalization of the changes was complete, he developed
a series of spots on his face and body, and that near constant state
of irritation. Unlike most heroes with a dark family, Klaus is not bitter
or angry with his father. He's actually pretty neutral to him, a feeling
his father has felt toward his son all his life.
Anyway.Klaus has two great buddies he fights with on Paragon's Protector
streets, Double Dealer and White Sapphire. If he could get past the
pumping adrenaline, and learn to control himself and concentrate better,
he might find a certain ice/ice blaster could be more than just a great
fighting partner for him.

Klaus really doesn't have a back story, at least not posted in-game.
He was the first character I made when I started playing City of Heroes.
I didn't have much of an idea what I was doing, but I did have a good
friend to help me some. I picked the Martial Arts/Super Reflexes combo
for several reasons. 1) I wanted a challenge 2) Felt being an in-your-face
guy would be fun 3) The combo seemed like a very classic, natural one.
I picked the name Alteron, first, because it's the last name of one
of my own villain characters. But I didn't want to play a 'vllain in
a hero game' or 'villain being heroic because of game constraints' character.
At the time I was listening to the Time Machine soundtrack, and decided
to take Klaus, after Klaus Bedalt, one of my favourite composers.
Interestingly, I didn't give Klaus a second or third costume until
level 34 and 35. I wanted a motorcycle jacket for costume two, so had
to wait for issue 4's release. Costume 3 I made just because I found
it appropriate for a martial arts guy to have a no-shoes costume.
